Fred Wheatt Orchestra

Fred Wheatt (B.M., M.A., J.D.) is the director of The Love Unlimited Orchestra. Wheatt is also the recipient of the 2007 American Federation of Musicians of
the United States & Canada’s Charles Walton Diversity Award. The group is
composed of many degreed multicultural music performers and educators. Members have performed with, conducted and or directed many of the top names in entertainment, including The Indianapolis Philharmonic Orchestra,
The Pittsburg Symphony Orchestra, The Cleveland Chamber Orchestra, The Cleveland Women’s Orchestra, The Akron Symphony Orchestra, The Shaker Symphony Orchestra, Atlanta African-American Philharmonic Orchestra, Barry
White, Sammie Davis, Jr., Grover Washington, Jr., Lou Rawls, Stevie Wonder, Jack Jones, Patti Paige, Nancy Wilson, Joe Williams, Carmen McCrae, Melba Moore, The O’jays, The Temptations and Chuck Berry. Also, Latin performances have included Celia Cruz, Cuban vocalist; Chivirico Davila, Puerto Rican top vocalist of the 1960’s and 70’s; Junior Gonzalez, Puerto Rican vocalist formerly with the Larry Harlow Orchestra; and Oscar DeLeon, bassist from Venezuela.
The Love Unlimited Orchestra’s music, is uplifting, soothing, non-offensive and is appreciated by youth through senior citizens
from many diverse cultural backgrounds. The orchestra’s repertoire includes rhythm & blues, jazz, Latin, classical and more. The group’s instrumentation includes violins, horns, vocalists and a funky kickin’ rhythm section. The Love Unlimited Orchestra
